Hoa Lu, 1ookm south of Ha Noi was the capital city of Vietnam under the Dinh Dynasty between AD 968 and AD 980. Some of the santuaries and tobms have survived the countless years and can still be visited today. Apart from the historical aspects , the area is also one of astounding natural beauty with limestone peaks whose splendor is often said to surpass that of Ha Long Bay. It is true that this area is often refferd to as the Ha Long Bay on land . The tour includes being rowed along the Boi River , which make for a truly unforgettable experience , passing between towering limestone peaks.

Itinerary:

  • 7h45 AM: Bus Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi. Depart for Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh – 2 hours on bus),
  • 10.00 AM: Stop to Visit Hoa Lu old citadel with Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-80), and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009)
  • 12.00 PM: Lunch at a restaurant.
  • 13:00 PM take a rowing boat along the tiny canal among the rice fields to visit Tam Coc (Three Grottoes – for 2.5 hourss).
  • Boat trip back to harbour at 15:30 PM
  • Drive back Hanoi, arrive about 18h00
